Landslides
In general, the term landslide is used to describe slope movement. This movement could be related to naturally occurring geologic or manmade conditions. Typical manmade conditions include steep un-compacted fill slopes or steep excavated slopes. Given Southern California's topography many of these conditions exist here locally.
Landslides or slope movement can occur when water from rain or irrigation run-off saturates the underlying earthen materials. The saturation causes the materials to weaken making it incapable of withstanding the stresses they are experiencing. The result is the release of these stresses in the form of movement.
SCS&T's staff, of licensed engineers and geologists, is experienced in dealing with these conditions at every level. Additionally, we are familiar with various local design engineers and contractors' means and methods to provide cost effective solutions.
