Marina Gateway, National City, CA

The Marina Gateway Redevelopment Project is part of the overall development of the Harbor District. The 173-room Best Western Hotel is bounded by Paradise Marsh to the south, Bay Marina Drive (24th Street) to the north, the I-5 Freeway to the east, and Marina Way to the west, in the City of National City. The hotel has two new restaurants and Buster’s Beach House restaurant, adjacent to the hotel, that opened in late 2009. SCS&T provided the following services:
 
Geotechnical Services: Geotechnical Investigation, Foundation Plan Review, Observation & Testing of Subgrade, Grading, Base, Wall Backfill and Underground Utilities
 
Special Inspection & Materials Testing: Concrete, Masonry, Welding, Floor Flatness Testing
