Serving both the public and private sectors, our firm provides professional expertise in the areas of environmental science & engineering, geotechnical engineering, construction integration & technology, geophysics, special inspection & materials testing, and facilities consulting.

The SCST team includes skilled geotechnical engineers, civil and environmental engineers, environmental scientists, engineering geologists, multi-credentialed inspectors and technicians, and the appropriate management systems and support personnel committed to providing our clients with high quality and tailored services.

Construction Laboratory Technician (Selma)

If you are a Geotechnical Laboratory Technician interested in working to ensure construction projects are safe, read on.
 
What You Will Be Doing:
 
At SCST, an Atlas Company, our Lab Technicians assess the integrity of soil and other site samples prior and during major construction projects. Therefore, successful candidates must have a passion for getting in the dirt and judging its behavior!
 
  • Perform laboratory testing
  • Assign and track test samples through Laboratory Management System
  • Data entry of laboratory test results
  • Perform and track calibrations of laboratory equipment
  • Keep laboratory in a neat and orderly manner
What You Need for This Position:
 
  • Willingness to obtain applicable certifications necessary to perform laboratory testing
  • Basic Math skills, addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and decimals
  • Good time management skills to complete projects within timeline and parameters given
  • Solid organizational skills and acute attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of personnel
  • Knowledge of personal computer, scanner and digital copier/printer
  • Technical skills - ability to learn new programs that are industry specific

Geotechnical Drafter (San Diego)

What You Will Be Doing:
 
At SCST, LLC, an Atlas Company, drafters lead in figure and/or exhibit drafting in AutoCAD, this will include building maps of geotechnical investigations as well as project and report preparation assistance. Drafting being done is not traditional civil drafting. We make exhibits using CAD with drafting done by third parties.
 
What You Need For This Position:
 
  • Strong independent work ethic and decision-making skills
  • Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficient using AutoCAD and or Civil 3D a must.

Our Inspectors ensure Reinforcing Steel, Concrete, Post-tensioned Concrete, Masonry, Structural Steel, High Strength Bolting and Spray-applied Fire Resistive Materials are all according to plan and specification. Therefore, successful candidates must also have a passion getting in the dirt and judging its behavior!
 
Other Functions:
 
  • Interacting with clients, stakeholders, and contractors during various phases of a project
  • Inspecting multiple projects which include onsite oversight and inspection
  • Preparing written reports
  • Reviewing field dailies for conformance with project and company standards and respond to reports of nonconformance
